Privacy Policy

Clear, plain-English privacy practices for Gulfshore Rides customers, website visitors, and transportation bookings.

1. Introduction

Welcome to Gulfshore Rides. We are a privately owned airport transportation service based in Bonita Springs, Florida, proudly serving Southwest Florida — including Naples, Marco Island, Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Estero, Sanibel, Captiva, and the surrounding communities. Our primary airport is Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW), and we also serve Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood (FLL), Miami International (MIA), Tampa International (TPA), and Punta Gorda (PGD).

Your privacy matters to us. When you book a ride, use our website, or reach out to us by phone, email, or text, you trust us with personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and what choices you have.

We have written this policy in plain English on purpose. We believe you deserve a clear, honest explanation — not pages of hard-to-read legalese. That said, this document is a legally significant statement of our data practices, and we take every commitment made here seriously.

By using our website at https://gulfshorerides.com or booking our services, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you have any questions at any time, please reach out to us directly — our contact information is at the end of this document.

2. Information We Collect

We only collect information that is genuinely needed to provide you with reliable, professional transportation. We do not collect data out of curiosity or for purposes unrelated to our service.

Booking Information

When you schedule a ride with Gulfshore Rides, we collect the details necessary to complete your trip. This includes:

  • Your full name
  • Pickup and drop-off addresses
  • Flight number, airline, travel date, and scheduled arrival or departure time
  • Number of passengers in your party
  • Special requests such as child safety seats, pet accommodations, or extra luggage needs

Contact Information

We collect your phone number and email address when you submit a booking request, fill out a contact form, send us an email, or reach out via text message.

Payment Information

When you pay for a ride, your credit or debit card details are processed through a secure, third-party payment processor. Gulfshore Rides does not directly collect, store, or have access to your full card number, CVV, or billing information. We may retain a record of the transaction amount, date, and a masked reference number for accounting purposes.

Flight Tracking Data

Your flight number is used to actively monitor your flight’s arrival or departure status through third-party flight tracking services. This allows us to adjust your pickup time if your flight is delayed or arrives early. We do not use your flight information for any other purpose.

Fare Finder Tool

Our website may offer a fare estimation tool. Origin and destination data entered may be logged as part of normal website operation to help us understand common travel routes and improve our services.

Usage Data

Like virtually all websites, ours collects standard technical information when you visit — browser type, device type, pages visited, and referring URLs — through cookies and plugins including Yoast SEO and, where enabled, Google Analytics.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your personal information only for the purposes for which it was collected. Specifically, we use it to:

  • Complete your booking — to confirm, schedule, and dispatch your ride accurately
  • Coordinate logistics — to track your flight in real time and adjust pickup timing as needed
  • Communicate with you — to send transactional and service-related booking confirmations, driver details, pre-trip reminders, ride updates, payment status, and follow-up messages needed to manage your ride
  • Process payment — to facilitate secure billing through our third-party payment processor
  • Respond to inquiries — to answer questions submitted by phone, text, email, or contact form
  • Send optional marketing communications — only if you separately opt in, request them, or otherwise provide permission; marketing consent is not required to book a ride
  • Improve our service — to analyze website usage patterns and improve the customer experience
  • Comply with legal obligations — to meet applicable requirements under Florida and federal law

We will never use your personal information for profiling, behavioral advertising, or sale to data brokers.

4. How We Share Your Information

We share your information only when necessary to provide the services you’ve booked — never for profit. Limited sharing occurs with:

  • Drivers and dispatchers: Only what is needed to complete your ride.
  • Payment processors: To process your transaction securely.
  • Flight tracking services: Your flight number only, for real-time status monitoring.
  • Website service providers: Hosting and analytics providers with limited, necessary access.
  • Legal requirements: When required by law, court order, or government authority.

We do not sell, rent, trade, or license your personal information to any third party for marketing or commercial purposes.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our website uses cookies to help the site function properly and to understand how visitors use it.

  • Essential cookies: Required for the website to function, including WordPress session cookies.
  • Analytics cookies: Yoast SEO and Google Analytics may set cookies to help us understand page traffic in aggregate.
  • Third-party cookies: Platforms like Facebook or Instagram may set cookies if you arrive via their links. We do not control these.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. To opt out of Google Analytics, visit https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

6. Payment Security

All payment transactions are handled by a PCI-DSS compliant third-party payment processor. Gulfshore Rides does not store, transmit, or have access to your full credit or debit card number, CVV, or PIN. Our website is secured with SSL/TLS encryption and displays the TrustedSite security badge. If you believe your payment information has been compromised, contact us immediately at book@GulfshoreRides.com or (239) 523-2222.

7. Data Retention

We keep your personal information only as long as needed to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected or as required by law:

  • Booking records — retained for a reasonable period after your trip for accounting and dispute resolution.
  • Contact and communication records — kept as long as necessary to respond, provide service-related follow-up, resolve questions, and document customer requests.
  • Marketing consent records — retained only if you separately opt in or request marketing communications, so we can document your preferences and honor unsubscribe or opt-out requests.
  • Payment records — retained per applicable financial and tax requirements.
  • Analytics data — retained per the settings of each analytics tool, generally in aggregate form.

To request early deletion of your data, contact us using the information in Section 13.

8. Children’s Privacy

Our website and services are not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. This is consistent with the federal Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information to us, please contact us at book@GulfshoreRides.com and we will promptly delete it. Families traveling with children are warmly welcome — booking must be handled by a parent or adult guardian.

9. Third-Party Links and Services

Our website links to Facebook, Instagram, and Yelp. Gulfshore Rides does not control these websites and is not responsible for their privacy practices. Third-party services associated with our site include:

  • Facebook and Instagram — Meta’s privacy policy governs your interactions on those platforms.
  • Yelp — Yelp’s privacy policy governs reviews and messages submitted there.
  • TrustedSite — May collect limited data in connection with their certification monitoring.
  • Google Analytics — Google’s privacy policy governs data collected through this tool.
  • Flight tracking services — Your flight number is shared solely for trip-coordination purposes.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Florida Residents

We comply with the Florida Information Protection Act (FIPA), including data breach notification requirements. The Florida Digital Bill of Rights (FDBR) applies only to businesses with revenues over $1 billion — Gulfshore Rides is exempt — but we honor reasonable data access and deletion requests regardless.

California Residents

The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) may provide California residents with rights to know, delete, and opt out of sale of personal information. Gulfshore Rides does not sell personal information. Submit requests via the contact information in Section 13.

All Customers

You may contact us at any time to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, or to opt out of marketing communications. Transactional and service-related messages needed to complete, confirm, dispatch, or manage a booking may still be sent even if you opt out of marketing.

Email, SMS, and Marketing Choices

Marketing emails comply with the CAN-SPAM Act and include an opt-out option. If optional SMS marketing is offered, it will be handled separately from booking-related text messages and may be opted out of at any time. To unsubscribe from marketing, reply with “unsubscribe” in the subject line, reply STOP to eligible marketing texts, or contact us directly.

11. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational steps to protect your personal information, including SSL/TLS encryption, PCI-DSS compliant payment processing, and limiting data access to personnel who need it. We comply with the FTC Act’s prohibition on deceptive data practices. No electronic transmission is 100% secure, but we use industry-standard practices and will act per FIPA requirements in the event of a breach.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as our business or applicable laws change. Updates will be reflected by a revised “last updated” date at the bottom of this page. Your continued use of our website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
